Thousands of people have been left without electricity after a powerful storm hit the Russian city of Tver on Friday, July 13. Several outdoor cafes were almost swept away by rain, while the cross from a local cathedral was blown off its dome.

A thunderstorm with hail and strong winds paralysed the city's roads.
Local authorities who are working to restore power and clear roads say the storm caused around $US 90,000 worth of damage.
