Fifty years since Nikita Khrushchev's ‘corny’ visit to the state of Iowa Viktor Sukhodrev, personal interpreter to the Soviet leader, recalls this landmark trip both in terms of politics and agriculture.










I do not know what the USA average corn (maize) yeald was in 1959. Today the average corn yeild for the USA is; 143 bushels per acre. This equals 9.49 metric tonnes per hectare. The corn is here. Where are the hogs ?
