The leading candidates in Ukraine's presidential election are making the most of their last opportunities to campaign before polls open on January 17.

it's as simple as this; Obviously the country was a basket case with a divided population for such an event to occur,(the previous 'revolution') so if either side the 'west' side or the 'east' side wins ultimate peoples mandate, wouldn't it be their first priority to start to run the country as a single unit, reach out to the people on the other side, like, in the acceptance speech. it looks like the type of apathy one typically sees in completely controlled systems, obviously there is a very large communication/information deviation between the citizens and the administration.
