The Muslim Brotherhood claims it is leading the vote in the first parliamentary election since the fall of Mubarak. But many doubt whether it will change much, with the army generals who took over from the ousted president still holding the reins.

Port workers in Egypt have refused to receive a shipment of tear gas ordered by the country’s Interior Ministry from the United States. They fear it will be used against protesters in Tahrir Square.

Employees at the Adabiya Seaport in coastal city Suez published shipping documents for delivery of a total of 21 tonnes of the crowd-dispersal agent, local mediareport.

The revelation comes as the first 7.5-tonne shipment from the American port of Wilmington arrived to Egypt. Some of the port workers refused to accept the cargo and made the deal public, provoking an official investigation into their actions.

The tear gas was produced by the Combined Systems company. The initial shipment consists of 479 barrels.

Egyptian police have been regularly using tear gas and other riot control equipment against the protesters who gather each day on Cairo’s Tahrir Square. Apparently the stocks have run low and had to be replenished.

The news angered many Egyptians, who asked why the interim government is buying tear gas instead of food to feed those without the money to feed themselves and jobs to earn their living.

Meanwhile the country has passed the first round of its three-stage parliamentary election. The voting was marred by violence on Tuesday night, in which some 80 protesters were injured.

Read the last one from this section: Who will fill the boots of the Russian Army?

There you go, Bryan. You may stop pitying us. The number of such articles is indeed numerous: these were quickly searched from what I remembered.

Just to put things straight - if you are getting run over by a propaganda machine, you cannot just leave your news that neutral. You will have to have something to say in your defense so you dont look as bad as the other country pictures you. I have turned around your claims twice now and if you keep on putting nonsense in here, then I will assume that you are either around the age of 15 (I was f*kin brainwashed at that age myself...painful to remember) or you are one of them, who benefit from Western propaganda, in which case you are an enemy to humanity. Might also be something in between that I cannot think of.
But I hope I did not offend you or anyone else - we all have a right to an opinion and that is why RT allows our posts straight into the comment feed and does not make admins check them for 'inconveniences', as someone mentioned in this feed earlier.
And yes, it is indeed painful to admit to yourself that this brainwashing thing has affected our opinions since we were babies. Many of us have gone through it.

Thanks for reading and let us pay a little bit of respect to each-other, ok?

Bryan I am not surprised you think the way you do. The Americans are by and large the only developed nation whose citizens are living behind tragic iron curtain called brainwashing and lack of exposure to the outside world. The Americans are sheltered from the facts of what their government and corporations are doing to other people that they are often shocked when they discover that the majority of the world population does not see the United States a force for good. Wherever the Americans claim to want to bring democracy we see primarily blood trails, tears and suffering, not democracy and freedom. But this is fact which is very hard for you to swallow. The United States today is using primarily military aggression and economic blockading to stay on top but it will from the top very soon. It already had.

RT is a propaganda machine for the Russian government because, A, it is state owned and, B, its Russia, LOL. When is the last time RT did a story on how bad Russia is? That woman on Russian Tv can show the middle finger to Obama because America respects those rights. If she had done that to Putin she would have gone to jail if not be killed. I don't hate RT or Russians or crazy Americans who think their country is not the greatest even though it is. I JUST PITY YOU GUYS.
