were these four people tried and convicted according to Russian laws and according to concrete evidence? So why is Russia's state run website is claiming that these four were alleged spies? Is it possible those writing this memo do not know the difference between convicted spies and allegations of being spies for the West? http://en.rian.ru/russia/20100709/159742450.html

Anna Chapman is such a failure as a PR agent or spying -she should repent and become a humanitarian and work with Russian orphans. If she really cares about Russia, she will write a book, make a film and use the money to benefit Russians orphans.

If these people weren't working for the Russian government and had been so long estranged from her, why would Russia go along with this exchange? At any rate, guilty or not nothing about these Russian spies seemed at all threatening. I didn't like the tension in the bilateral relations that developed from this ordeal, so i'm glad it's ended in a positive humanitarian fashion.

RT "The ten alleged secret agents have been exchanged for four real American spies serving long-term sentences in Russian prisons." RiaNovosti "All four have appealed to the Russian president to free them after admitting their crimes against the Russian state, press secretary Natalia Timakova said." It is just the wording as they run through contacts in front organisations linked to western intelligence not direct contacts themselves hence alleged. @Josef Sternberg US got the best deal by far 4 high level spies who gave info on state secrets military, nuclear, etc for 10 low level operatives they could have done the same thing through a registered lobby firm which the US and Britain do on mass openly in through thousand of NGO’s. In fact all the major opposition, human and civil rights organisations, etc are financed primarily by NED.

What a silly political stunt and Russia is idiotic allowing this to go through. Trade 4 real damaging spies for 10 unregistered agents who gathered no damaging information the whole time of operating. Russia needs to stop sucking its thumb around US as they have no intent on working with Russia as an equal. Russia is ruining its image amongst real allies for what in return? NOTHING! @PR101 why you mention orphans? Is this a problem you think is specific to Russia? Why don't Americans concern themselves with the millions in their own country. The wording and definitions are political. The 600,000 number in Russia is those who do NOT live with their natural parents. They may live in foster care or with a grandma and be added to this list. I remember 10 years ago Russia caught an American spy, forget his name, but he was caught with evidence, they show the videos of the investigators. He was holding documents when they arrested this American. They then complained he had poor health and cancer. I believed they released him. Reset is an American propaganda move for people's consumption. It really is a sad attempt. I don't want even to see Russia looking West until they stop imperial wars. I have no problems with citizens of any nation, but I have no respect of US government. Russia's latest moves over the past year have only been financially motivated and done nothing but put knives in the backs of people who actually liked Russia.
