Politicians are releasing fantastic amounts of hot air jet-setting around the planet in order to debate the alleged threat of global warming. But what about all the other things killing humans?

Ah, for the good old days when we feared nuclear war and just got on and lived our lives without all this worry.

Don't underestimate the danger of CFCs. Without an ozone layer, the ultraviolet light from the Sun would kill nearly all life on the surface of the Earth within a month. A tiny bit of chlorofluorocarbons can destroy a huge amount of our ozone shield. Some previous mass extinctions may have been caused by supernovas stripping away Earth's protective ozone layer. Carbon dioxide is a danger because too much of it might eventually cause enough warming to thaw out the permafrost in Siberia, Alaska and Canada. Such thawing would release massive amounts on methane into our atmosphere. Methane is a very effective greenhouse gas which would unleash a dangerous level of warming. It might even be life threatening for the human species. Mess up the atmosphere too much, and we're history. NASA didn't just decide to spend billions to study the carbon cycle from space for nothing. Of course, everyone knows that today, nuclear weapons are our greatest threat. I can think of several ways in which a single nuclear explosion could cause an accidental nuclear war, and I'm not that bright. The clock is ticking to get rid of these things.

I found the article interesting and it was apparent that the author, after gathering information, wrote what seems like a fair, balanced story. Why the author is even bold enough to suggest that this 'global warming' hype could possibly be just that, nothing more than hype. It is refreshing to read a story that wouldn't be 'politically correct' in the U.S.A. If you study this 'global warming' agenda in depth you will start to understand that it is nothing more than a ruse by the politicians to achieve power and money. Why is it that the champions of the environment never give equal time to the qualified scientists who disagree with the concept of global warming? I'm not convinced. Thanks for the story and fair reporting.

Mankind's deadliest enemy isn't technology, but each other. We can solve pollution through better technology and sources of energy. We can solve economic conditions through free-markets and trade. We can solve diseases through vaccines and research. But we can't solve how the human mind is designed to hate. Countries will always fight with each other no matter how democratic the world becomes. People will always post mean cyber-bullying comments. Politicians and busy-bodies will always try and control people and pass evil legislation to enact their personal desires. I just hope that technology will help to minimize some of the conflicts we view every day.

But then, if your nation is ruled by imperialists with wars and police state-ism in mind, as well as a population conditioned to accept violence as a good problem solving tool, then the rulers want a violently minded and capable population. They may say they don't, but really, add it up.
