As policymakers gather in Copenhagen to discuss ways of combating climate change, skeptics are bragging about exposing a decades-long conspiracy of climatologists and politicians. What went wrong with science?

Climategate exposed FRAUD! It didn't expose a flaw in research, they were manipulating data. And no one has any scientific proof man is creating global warming. Those who are meeting in Copenhagen aren't even debating! They are going to make decisions on reducing Carbon Emissions, Cap and Trade style Taxes, and more!!! And my posts about this don't appear on this commentary because my view isn't matching to RT? How absurd! If they were actually debating the issue instead of jumping feet first into taxation and stifling development, I wouldn't be upset. However, whitewashing the man made climate change scientist's guilt is very sad.

This new from the London Telegraph, the Copenhagen meetings already have 1,200 limos and 200 private jets... Oh enjoy the hypocrisy as they meet on how to tax people on a theory that man creates global warming which isn't proven nor will it be.

Artyum is a little hard on RT. You relate relatively well what your critical commentators write. As far as the Copenhagen's conference is concerned; it is a fraud; one of those deceitful, traditional planetary reunions which cost a lot of money and make thousands tonnes of CO2. It will even end with an other great hollywoodian-type Barack Obama Circus show and many fictive promisses. As I have explained in other topics, it miss completely the subject. It is a fact that humans are detrimental to our planet well-being. We should respect more our environment and all the species who share it with us. Unfortunatly, following the arrogance and bad examples of a minority of us, we have become obsessed with money, power and desirs to abuse other humans. We are unable to control our demography and it become obvious than we will have soon or later to define how many humans can correctly live on this planet. The larger the nomber is, the more problems we will create (quality is better than quantity). We must also cease to beleive that we are the masters on Earth; we are still an unsignifiant creature. Nevertheless, our bad habits have to be replaced and decent leaders able to understand our dilema must be found. Perhaps will it be judicious to give more credit to scientifics who study all human-nature's phenomenas. The Copenhagen forum should first of all admit that the actual mankind's governance is a total fiasco. Naturally, like in french politics: to have a better system require that those who profit the most of the bad one ask for the change. This not going to happen soon. Sorry Future Generations. Sincerely. . Jean-Claude Meslin

Climate change/global warming is just more LIBERAL nonsense, since the oceans dominate the world's weather systems. Period! In the mid-70s we were told by the climate loons that the East Coast of the U.S. would be flooded in several feet of water. Yeah, right! Al Gore and his ilk need to find real work. In other words, get a job. This whole thing is put forward by tree-hugging, granola bar-types who have nothing better to do, along with all their LIBERAL doomsday jackass compatriots. These same jackasses have no problem in saving spotted owls, whales, butterflies, etc., but when it comes to saving pre-natal human life, they want no part of it. God bless America and God save the queen...Amen!

J.T.Ripper, the voice of America's ignorant masses. Regardless of your partisan political prejudices (apparent hatred of what you call "liberals"), global warming is a real phenomena, and the only real question is to determine how much of the environmental shift is caused by human activity, as opposed to long-term natural cycles (that we know very little about). The recession of the worlds glaciers and polar icecaps is a fact, as is the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrations. The idea promulgated by the climate-sceptics that human kind can continue its unregulated deforestation and unchecked consumption of fossil fuels without affecting the planetary balance is quite absurd. On a human level, the world seems a pretty big place, but in reality the earths atmosphere is a very thin shell (50% of the mass of the atmosphere lies below an altitide of 5.6 km ). Human activity in a rapidly industrialising world with uncontrolled population growth is more than capable of causing substantial change to so-called greenhouse gas levels, and thereby climate changes due to disruptions in the planetary heat-balance. Deniers such as J.T often end their diatribes with a religious affirmation (pro-life, God bless Amerika etc) and I wonder if this is the true root cause of their angst. If God is real, surely He won't let this happen to His people? As with the "controversy" of theory of evolution and human origins, is this another case of religious nutbags defending their turf?

In today's world there are, so called, experts everywhere all competing for their own little sound byte and their few minutes of fame. This is an al gore ithim of our time. Politicians act on impulse and the direction the political wind is blowing, not on solid science and common sense. Before the world wastes billions/trillions of dollars on this global warming scare, it might be a good idea to toss out the perverted science of today. Real honest scientists, without an agenda, should go for the real, true science instead of fabricated lies to fit the scheme. Dishonesty in science can have dire consequences. Perhaps these corrupt scientists should have their credentials withdrawn and face fraud charges. A little time in prison could get some answers about their motives and if they had other accomplices to the scam/fake science.

After reading and considering all the information I can find on both sides of the issue, I think the problem is ultimately up to the United States, China, and the other industrialized nations (EU, Russia, India), as the source of the problem, to come up with the solution - without breaking the backs of the poor and developing countries that have not caused any of the perceived problems. There is no doubt that climate change is real. I talk to my friend in Alaska and he tells me things are going pretty crazy with the weather and climate up there. The danger is the Trojan Horse of derivative speculation for carbon-trading companies, like Al Gore's, to make a 'killing' on that market - the IMF and UN will get all the tax-money - and the little countries will get more loans they can't pay and get further into debt slavery ... ... the big-boys of industry and energy need to clean up their own mess. (read my lips - no new taxes) :-P
