“Here, all of a sudden, you understand that space is the globe. You come to understand that it is the home of humanity. It is a totally different perspective – it is my home, it is the people’s home, and there are no borders there,” he told RT.
“Yury Gagarin orbited the earth only once. When he was asked a similar question, he gave a genius answer. ‘Orbiting the earth in the Vostok spaceship, I saw how beautiful our planet is. It was such a delight.’ And then, all of a sudden, he added ‘People, let’s preserve and enhance the beauty of the earth, rather than destroy it’,” Leonov added.
