Russia is designing a new spaceship that will allow more space tourists to accompany cosmonauts on their missions. RT talked to the head of Russia's leading spaceship-manufacturer to learn more.

A permanent base on the far side of the Moon is certainly a priority! A massive telescope could be built there with no Earth passing across the sky above that would disturb observations. The permanent crews would rotate every 3-6 months and all that is already achievable with the todays technology. That would require 2 tons of supplies per man for six months stay there. Besides, there is a huge cigar shaped formation (some refer to it as being an ancient abandoned spacecraft) positioned some 50-100 km to the west of the most western point of the rim of the Fermi crater. The formation is approximatelly 4km long aligned south-north, and Lunokhod 2 allegedly ended its voyage very close to this ancient spaceship wreckage. Therefore, the crew of the permanent observatory could use their free time to make some additional research of the wreckage (assuming of course that the observatory wouldn't be staged too much away from the location).
