The G8 unbinding agreement to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 concerns developed countries only, told RT Nobuo Tanaka, the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.
The question as to what greenhouse gas emission cuts should be made by developing countries is still open.
“The target to cut emissions is symbolic. There are plenty of technological issues behind that target. The issue of who will share this burden of reduction will comes later. But this is a very important start, a preparation,” said Tanaka.
