This is pathetic and reactionary move by Russia’s federal authorities. Rather than asking mothers intrusive questions about their private lives, the Russia’s political authorities could do well by making life easier for families and young women to have children and more of them. I say transfer the wealth of the nation from the oligarchs to ordinary citizens and Russia’s population problems will disappear.
