Satellite crash raises growing concern over space junk

Russia is monitoring the wreckage of two communications satellites that collided in space above Siberia.

Charles Vick, a space expert at globalsecurity.org thinks an international standard for disposing of space junk should be established.
Two communication satellites – one Russian, one American – have collided in space some 800 kilometres above Siberia.
Iranian space officials say they plan to launch a manned spacecraft before 2021. The Islamic Republic launched its first-ever satellite into orbit this month.
Among the training regimes that Russian cosmonauts pass before being admitted into orbit is the shooting range. The reason is that they must learn how to use a special three-barreled gun found on every Soyuz spacecraft.
