What's Russia going to get in return for cancelling deal with Iran? Third rate basketball players from the US making them Russian citizens to play for Russia's National Team which will result in further unsuccessful streaks in world competitions. Funny? beats crying!!...why does a country crawl on their knees to the US that expands NATO, arms Georgia to the teeth to kill Russian citizens , almost destroys Russian economy in the 90's etc...keeps plotting and planning Russia's demise......perhaps Russians from Israel have returned home with the money that they snuck out in the 90's to influence Russian foreign policy just as the Jewish lobby does in America. Fred....oregon, USA

The Iranian government starves its people in order to build up their military. Russia took a big hit on this one. The major world powers should be ashamed of themselves for encouraging smaller nations to buy weapons rather than food. The US just sold Canada 65 jets for about 12 billion dollars. Canada needs to stop buying weapons. Russia and the US should find a better way to earn money.

Compensation of US$ 1.5 Billion should be paid to Iran. We really do not know why Medvidiv is thinking to demolish a relationship with an important country such Iran. What is the benefit for Russia to do that. Iran was with us since 30 years depends on us on everything, now we are turing our back to them. Believe me very soon Russia will be sorry for that.

Medvedev's Auto Goal Russia was in favour of the fourth round of sanctions against Iran. Russia also voted in favour of sanctions against Libya, Iraq and North Korea. This simply means that THEY voted against selling the S-300 to Iran. Other excuses are superfluous. It's time Mr. Sergey Lavrov stands for the election of President of Russia.

The issue is not about its formal content (being the recognized subject - failure to contract). This issue is handling more important matter - the timing! Make it this way: in any split segment of time we will not have all radical vectors settled as we wish. So we can predict that the vectors will surely, positively remain unpredictable. To exercise power over the situation one need the power of authority or the discipline of subjugation. Iran is to consider this location of Russia and remain integral part of Eurasia capable to share the priority in the pursuit for the continental authority. The authority is fed by patience and perseverance.

Dear Mr Lavrov Cancellation of S300 Defensive Missile is a grave mistake , as all we know they are plenty of warmongers looking for opportunity to fill up their greedy nature with financial rewards , as continuously are doing in the Iraq, Afghanistan ,and elsewhere ,they are eager to acuse Mr Bout , just merely publicities . If Iran's lacking of defensive power , were attacked, naturally by air, it is next door to Russia, which eventually may involve Russia too , that decision by Mr Medvedev was a error of judgement , which sooner or later he would be regretted .

This story is CONFUSED: . The Down Payment for the S-300 system is 166.8 Million...But the RT video @ 0:48 seconds says that the Down Payment is 800 Million dollars (BUT this WRONG, the Down Payment is 166.8 Million)...So that means that Russia will CHEAT Iran out of 800 -166.8 = 633.2 Million dollars. . ALSO S-300 is only DEFENSIVE (not offensive), so it does NOT violate UN Sanctions!! . Russia is Cheating Iran . And If S-300 deal does violate UN sanctions, then just Refund Full 800 Million, without giving Iran the S-300!! . Russia does NOT have to Keep the full 800 Million in order to with hold the S-300 from Iran (Russia is just Cheating Iran...nothing more)

It's evident that the cancellation of the lucrative S-300 with Iran is not by choice or as result of UN sanctions. It is necessary for one to fully understand the backdrop of such a decision. Selling arms is a very profitable business to many countries, Russia being no exception. Military armaments export are a large cash cow for Russia who is trying to reestablish its importance as a world superpower. Supplying arms to the Mideast has been largely along two opposing fronts: the United States and her allies and the Muslim nations, by extension the Russian-bloc. Now, for the Russians to forgo the prospects of fortifying an (outcast) ally is clearly questionable. Apart from playing both sides, its apparent that the Russians were pressured into S-300 cancellation. But in lieu of their importance in the region and what else? Now for that we will have to call on the experts.

S-300 is a defensive device.   If I was iranian, i will feel unsecure with the almost complete surroundig of my countrie by the USarmy .

The US propaganda aiming to build a casus belli against Iran in order to continue the state of permanent war to install the police state in America, will not help me to feel secure.

Due to his hig efficiency, the S-300 is an effective disuasive  device.

Also I have no doubt that some apparatus may protect the S-300 to be used against russian forces
