A Russian bank has registered the words “Christmas”, “New Year” and “holiday” as an exclusive trademark in banking services, and is now suing competitors for using them in their product offerings.
This is idiocy and a cheap, sad attempt at easy money. This was attempted with the smiley emoticon in Russia. Some quirky buzzard wanted royalties for something he has no ownership. This is exactly the same and should end the same way with this idiotic bank losing all rights to words it has no authority over. Paris Hilton trade marked, "that's hot". What kind of nonsense people come up with? Yes, Medvedev, bring us closer to the West, I haven't had my daily dose of stupidity.

American silliness has permeated the Russian Federation. Russia must free herself from the American lunacy if she wants to avoid the social rot that is leading to the demise of Western societies.
