Chancellor Angela Merkel is here because Germany businessmen are pushing her to focus on German-Russian relations. She is still pushing Transatlantic politics whereas in reality- Germany economic interests weights strongly wth Germany's relationship with Russia. Russia also needs to focus on Germany relations as strong as possible. Russia’s modernization will have greatest chance of succeeding if Russia focuses its relationship with Germany.
