Russia was and still is a massive energy provider, but there is a problem of making it a more competitive country, says Marshall Goldman, an analyst on the economy of the former Soviet Union and Russia.
It should, many problem occurs when the energy of a nation is wasted because of misuse, that leads to a less progressive country. Maybe our nation should study the other productive way of energy producing. Regards
“Russia’s problem with energy is that it cannot decide to use its energy as an economic tool or as a political tool. It begins to use politics that destroys the economic ability to have influence.” This is a good point I notice that every energy deal signed by companies like Gazprom always have a political dimension Mr Putin or Medvedev are always in attendance giving it this political edge. In contrast Britain’s BP and a large Chinese oil company have just signed a much larger deal to jointly develop Iraq’s third largest oil field there was no politicians in attendance for Iraq china and Britain it was just about doing business.
The main problem that was not mentioned here is an authoritarian hierarchical structure of local Russian government, which leads to a bureaucratic way of thinking and managing affairs causing a lot of problems to Russian economy

I think new rail systems must be built, and citizens encouraged not to move west back to Moscow, but to push farther East, so as to encourage the building of a Bering Strait bridge (and/or tunnel) between Russia and Alaska. I am sure that there are as yet untapped resources that might be discovered during the construction process. Also, I think that the United States should see Russia as a friend. I have always admired the Russian people's ability to cope with unlimited hardship. It is something Americans can learn from. Also, a word to my Russian friends. Please give more money to your space program. I for one would love to see something like Angara 100 or N-1 fly again, this time from Russian soil.
