Even the UN has labeled it as a less harmful drug than Alcohol and Nicotine. Cannabis was a threat to many industries, the lumber industry for paper and fibers as hemp rope and such was cheaper. And the chemical industries like DuPont. Most desire to smoke Cannabis again comes from the good memories and fun not through addiction like alcoholism and cigarette addicts suffer. Also filling prisons with non violent criminals is ludicrous. It is a natural plant growing on earth. However, it does alter the mind so heavy equipment operation isn't recommended. It shouldn't be illegal, but it should be regulated and treated with responsibility. One should concentrate efforts on horrible drugs like Heroin, Cocaine, and Meth. The dangers of smoking applies with anything burnt and inhaled. Criminalizing Cannabis users is a modern political insanity that makes no more sense than imprisoning cigarette smokers or drinkers. The latter two have destroyed more families... And I heard that a Pro Cannabis/legalization movement actually acquired a permit to protest in Moscow and were broken up by the police.... Not good for our freedoms.

Well, someone is creating a market for drugs in Russia. Afghanistan is not far and produces a lot of it. Those who produce and export it, certainely need to advertise and sell it, so....... Also read the top story on RT that Russia lashes out at NATO for not fighting Afghan drug production! why should they??? It is giving them a good profit and if it puts the youth in Russia to sleep as it did in Iran, they can control the country much easier!!! That's why NATO is nor fighting or reducing its production but it has increased and it is even being transported ny NATO airplanes!!!!!

The fliers are not giving false information. I don't see why there is so much controversy over information that is valid.

The Russian government, with which RT (Russia Today, an English-speaking media outlet is connected) has tried to come on as one of the more prohibitionist-controlled governments in the world, breaking up demonstrations, arresting activists, etc. etc. The guerilla postering of apartment complexes in this large Russian town is symptomatic of such. So it is no surprise that the plethora of other health experts around the world who have recommended that cannabis be used medically are ignored by the authors of this article also. In spite of these difficulties, cannabis has a lengthy history in Russia, legalized or otherwise. Russia should wake up to the realities and not dream prohibitionist fantasies that impede the public health.

Marijuana IS less harmful than tobacco AND ethanol. Ethanol is physically addicting and withdrawal can kill you. People can become violent when drunk and behave poorly, making poor decisions. When was the last time someone high on marijauna committed a violent crime? When was the last time someone overdosed or had serious withdrawal issues because of marijuana. It's because alcohol is socially acceptable, and the media keeps trying to portray marijuana as bad. They even lie to you about it. The bottom line is, marijuana is not as toxic as tobacco or alcohol, but the government MUST maintain control over you and tell you have to live your life, so it will never be legalized. Your government knows better than you do.

Hahahahahaha... how pathetic are humans when to get us to buy a product we are told the product will not kill you or harm you as much as two other products that are freely available.

Ban smoking and alcohol consumption too.
