“Vaccination against swine flu a failure” – Ron Paul

The US vaccination program against swine flu is a failure, according to US Congressman Ron Paul. This is just one indicator of the government’s inability to handle social problems, he says.
Ron Paul does indeed have credibility on the subject of swine flue. He is a medical doctor as well as a congressman. The Republicans in the Bush administration used the color coded terriorist alerts for propaganda and to get reelected. We don't need to allow the swine flue virus to be used by the Democrats in the same way by declaring the swine flue a NATIONAL EMERGENCY for political purposes.
I am unable to get the regular flu shot they offer and suggest for asthmatics like me and suggest for many others. No one here has anymore so, there are many of us in this one town who can not receive this vaccine. every year if i don't receive this shot i always end up before the winter is over with the flu and worse that i end up in the hospital and the drug stores and doctors say there is no more of that shot here. and they also say there is no h1n1 shots left either. so for those of us who were not able to get to the right place at the right time are out of luck. and will get sick, be hospitalized and possibly die. You say that only old people have natural immunity? What age is considered old? I am 53, is that considered old? Where exactly do people in my age group and younger or older fit in. and why isn't there enough medicine for both flues available to everyone? Do we just take our chances and see if we get sick this winter or even die. Whose hands are all the people who are at risk in? Are the president's children more important then me or my children and grandchildren since I just heard he had his children take the H1N1 shot. That tells us who comes first . If there isn't enough for everyone, who is to blame? Who has to live with knowing all of those in the USA who could not get the shots and need them will become ill or even die. You tell me!!!!!! I know where people like me who are poor stand now. I know i would like some answers.
I am a bit surprised by Ron Paul. Perhaps he knows more, and therefore, his judgment appears harsh. I am not sure how is the Government to be blamed here? Who is manufacturing the vaccine? Who is distributing it? I do not think that we have here some Government pharmaceutical factories cranking the vaccine. I agree with William of the USA that this is not such a simple effort. Nobody really knows the nature of the strain, and its potential for mutation. The season has barely started in the norther hemisphere. Now, Ron Paul may help us understand the Health Care reform. The way I understand is, the insurance companies are going to get away with another scam. What they are fighting for is not to kill the public option, but to insure that the public option is available to those who cannot get private insurance. Sounds innocent, doesn't it. What it really means is that insurance companies will be cherrypicking, selecting young and healthy, while not wanting to insure old and in poor health. And when public option becomes limited to such a small pool of high risk subscribers, IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE. Then, everybody is going to blame the GOVERNMENT for running an EXPENSIVE program. While private insurance will shed the risk, and make EVEN BIGGER PROFITS. Good going, our esteemed congressmen, congresswomen and senators! Thank you for preserving the health of the insurance companies. Those same companies that made obscene amounts of money, and plunged it into various "investment instruments". Insurance companies office towers speak eloquently of their wealth, while money is being drained from patient care, doctors and hospitals. But money speaks. And we have the First Amendment to protect its right in our Government.
I do love Ron Paul, but no one "needs" this vaccination -- or any other, for that matter. The creator of the first polio vaccine, Dr. Jonas Salk, testified in 1977, along with other scientists, that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases throughout the USA since 1961. Which is really ironic, because Salk is the #1 example that pro-vaccine propaganda always cite to show that vaccines "work" or are "beneficial." The former Chief Vaccine Officer of the FDA, Dr. J. Anthony Morris, said "There is a great deal of evidence to prove that immunization of children does more harm than good." I think he might know what he's talking about. In fact, you can't *prove* that a vaccination prevented anything adverse from occurring; only that something adverse certainly happened afterwards (paralysis, autism, Guillen-Barr Syndrome, cancer at injection site, etc.)! The last thing I need for my "health" is a cocktail syringe full of mercury, formaldehyde, contaminated blood of animals and humans, and virus injected into my bloodstream. Just Say "NO" to this poison and take charge of your own health. (But yes, once again, another government program is a "failure.")

It takes months or more to invent, approve, create, and distribute a vaccine. The swine flue vaccine is still quite new; without some sort of a comparison with the speed at which private industry does things like this, and Ron Paul gave none, there is no credibility in claiming the government did the job with especial ineptitude. Furthermore, the yet to be realized fear is that the virus will mutate into something more deadly than what it is already. The more it spreads the more virus there will be in existence, and the more virus there is, the greater the probability that somewhere, in someone, the virus will mutate into something more deadly and contagious, like the 1918 virus, to which the H1N1 is very similar, that killed an estimated 50 million people in its time. Perhaps that isn't likely to happen again; if H1N1 does become something worse than what it is, it probably won't be as bad; but were better safe than sorry. Before this flu surfaced, nothing closely related to it had been seen for more than a half a century, which is why only old people have natural immunity to it. It is at least somewhat unusual and ominous, and this justifies taking some precautions and that is at the behest of doctors.
