Alina Kabaeva, Vera Sesina, Evgeniya Kanaeva – these are famous faces from the world of gymnastics. Their dances are graceful and elegant, but in reality they are the result of extremely hard work, sweat and tears.
This sport is called rhythmic gymnastics,not artistic gymnastics. It is a very beautiful sport many americans don't know much about. In Europe, it is very popular. The top gymnasts in this sport come from Ukraine,Russia,Spain,Belarus and Bulgaria.In the United States, there aren't many gymnasts that practice this discipline,however it has some appeal in the East and west coast states. So far,american rhythmic gymnasts have not earned medals yet in world championships or olympic games. There is a lot of talent within the american team, hopefully their time will come when they will achieve great success at the international level.
