An unofficial state that was created by war.... Taken from Georgia! Russia is hypocritical when they say that NATO supported the rebels in Libya when Russia did the exact same thing in Georgia! They used land forces, naval forces and the air force! South Ossetia will never be recognized as a state!

Georgia really shouldn’t go around killing Russian peacekeepers should it! What did you expect, we would just come around and collect the bodies, you are just lucky we didn’t drop by the capital and keep the tie eating nutter in suspense! BTW nothing was taken from Georgia, as you never really had this territory in the first place. Good luck to South Ossetia and the freedom they enjoy now from the Georgian tyrant, thanks to the blood of Russians and South Ossetians themselves! They can now live in peace, as for recognition, the western colonialists won’t even give it to Palestine, so no great loss there. As colonialism is the core value of the west, it is very hard for them to recognise any independence, other than when it is a game against Russia!

South Ossetia is a state if it has a bodyguard to keep evil minded governments from conquering it.  Most countries do not recognize South Ossetia yet, because they are afraid of USA which wants Georgia to conquer S.O.  USA will not always be dominant and other countries will make their own foreign policy in the future.

Good luck to the people of South Ossetia.  A small land-locked country has plenty of troubles even in peaceful times.  It will need powerful friends to remain independent.

Libya, NATO, Georgia,... All this has nothing to do with S.Ossetia. The former Soviet Autonomous Region, by the will of its people, never was officially part of the modern fascist Georgia, which arrogantly invaded that defenseless country and terrorized its population using temporary weakness of Russia and support of ignorant and hypocritical West.

Idk what history books you are reading but that territory did belong to Georgia. The people living there were pushed into those territories from Russia. Lets say the Mexican immigrants decided there were enough of them in a US region to brake away and make their own country? how is that different? And if anyone thinks Russia is defending South Ossetia out of the goodness of Putins heart they are hugely mistaken. Russian peace keepers, thats funny. With its long history of unfair policies and corrupt politics who is russia to teach anyone about anything. Just recently they passed a bill in St. Petersburg, that in so many words pretty much outlaws homosexuality in the country. perhaps they should hand over a piece of land to every group Russia imposes its dictatorship on, but then what would they have left.
