Take a bus trip – put your life at stake

After a series of minibus crashes, taking a ride in Moscow is becoming a game of Russian roulette. The authorities are blaming bad driving, but the operators say it is because they cannot get qualified staff.

Moscow's transit problems are small compared to Washington, DC! Consider the following: 1. Aging subway trains and no money to replace them, and an increase in ridership. 2. Subway and bus drivers texting and chatting on the mobile phone. 3. Routine electrical fires and equipment breakdowns on the subway, daily 4. Escalators and elevators constantly breaking down or being repaired, often for several months. 5.Bus I took to do this email, low on fuel. Driver not sure if he had enough for remainder of day. 6. Bus drivers often have serious driving and criminal offences, but are hired anyway. 7. No hope for substantial improvement for 5 to 10 years, even if there is more money!!!! So stop griping Moscuvites! It could be worse, you could live in Washington, DC!!!
