It's not like anybody else is going to care for him and he learned his lesson about what'll happen with tattling. Abuse is pretty universal in this world. Might as well keep it familiar. Then again, if he stays a ward of the court, he might have a better opportunity for paying for school later, and they wouldn't be able to use his family against him in various ploys so... I think that kid is just stupid.

Next time he gets out, his Mum should take him straight to the Russian Embassy and claim asylum. If the child was beaten at the orphanage, the Finnish authorities have failed to provide the protection that they claimed the child was not getting at home.
