Gorgeous country. It looks chilly even in the summer. Maybe PM Putin left that area just in time, because there was a 5.1 earthquake in Tuva shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning. The USGS website placed it 205 km southeast of Kyzyl - perhaps not where he was but it was only 6 km deep and folks in Kyzyl might have felt it. Hope they are all OK there.

We live in the most rural province in US the state of NV. We hike and camp in the mountains of California Oregon Washington Colorado. One day if we save up enough money, we can also go to the mountains of Siberia -- as the PM did. Many world people want to explore the rural and Siberia areas of Russia.
