I trust his every word-it be not political competition among them...They represent a huge tim wich have a main goal above them-better future for Russia nation and state. They done- from 2000 -a great job..Who will hold wich ofice is not important...I hope both of them will stay in power for a long time in future-for Russia own good! For sure they will talk, and coordinate policy among them and with any other factor-include ordinary citizens....In my opinion they are first , among endless line of fine Russia leaders, wich will follow...I wish them all the best!

This is where most of the Russian media, and occassionally RT fall on their face. There is a little too much love for the "sensational", and "impressive", and alike, making media often resort to yellow journalism tactics. This title is the best example: Putin "is considering the possibility of returning as president". Who is being quoted here? Putin, or somebody else interpreting what Putin may have said? In this case, it is what Putin, presumably DID NOT SAY. So, on the basis of someone's speculation that Putin had an opportunity to deny, the entire new logic was constructed. Is it any wonder that Western press has a field day painting Putin any which way they please. All they have to do is read such careless titles, and have enough material to chew for weeks on end. Similar phenomena could be seen with the missing Arctic Sea ship. Russian media went crazy with speculation, the wilder the merrier! All others had to do is pick it up, thereby "quoting Russian media". This lack of accuracy, speculation and the use of enertainment as a part of newscast, causes a lots of unnecessary explanation, denials and other waste of time for Russian diplomats. Next time, try a title like "Putin's remarks generate wild speculations".

I must tell the people in Russia they are fortunate with Putin. Both Putin and Medvedev have shown a great insight in all important issues for the past years. Though, many times falsly-critiziced by the western television and newspapers, they kept their word and sustained a policy of fairness. I myselve watched alot of interviews and speeches of Vladimir Putin which have changed my mind completely on the issue of Russia and her politics. Therefore, it's a great shame that my 'civilized' country won't portray the truth about the politics in Russia and keeps biasing your politicians while the both of our countries, and more important of our peoples, should cooperate instead of argue. Greetings from the Netherlands

Good that the two, Putin and Medvedev, act in harmony. If there would be no need for Putin to come back in 2012, then he could do that in 2016. I think that Russia is lucky for having these two guys on the top. Marzi6: Your comment, even if short one, is sarcastic and we all have recognized that. Could you, at least for once, be positive about Russia?

I wold love to see Mr.Putin again, as Russian President ,but only after one more term for President Medvedev. These two Eminent Leaders have shown through their Leadership, example of civility, and fareness that brings shame to the small leaders,of the western Fascist Alliance.I hope they both choose to continue in their positions of Leadership,as long chosen by their People, and if that be the case,we the People of the World too, will be served by their fare Policies and CIVILIZED manners, our small leaders can never compare. This is the time these Leaders are most needed,by their People and Humanity,in need of some balance,to avoid this trend, that is leading to absolute Tyranny.I may be asking to much, but I hope to see these Eminent Leaders continue doing more or less what they so greatly did up to now;and I hope see them for long time.My best wishes to both of them.

Putin was asked a direct question are you planning to stand as a presidential candidate in 2012, if he had given a straight answer like yes or no, Then there would be no need too speculate. Or he could have made no comment at all instead of the "we will make a deal" quip which had the "speculation effect" so maybe people need to take Mr Putin to task and not RT.As a British citizen I want to thank RT for showing some independent thought even if it embarrasses the mighty Putin (he who must be obeyed).Thank god not everyone in Russia is a Putin "suck up".

Either way, whether Putin takes part in the presidential elections in 2012 or not, both he and Medvedev have displayed the capability and capacity to be anything they want to be. Both Statesmen have held the two positions and have proven themselves equal to the tasks. Russia needed and still needs competent, strong, mature, fair, frank, honest... (I can go on endlessly) men like Putin, Medvedev, Sergei Lavrov to be GREAT. This has been very clear to see from the begining for any positively-thinking mind. All nations can be Great if they are lucky enough to have people the likes of Putin and Medvedev in power. Russians should seize the opportunity they have and make the best use while it lasts. By the way, please I would not want people to get me wrong, I do not doubt there are other russians even greater than Putin or Medvedev.

Unlike other world leaders, especially Western ones,Mr Putin is driven to lead by his love for his country alongside his compatriot Mr Medvedev,I welcome this news, even if only speculation at this time,.Russia needs Mr Putin and Mr Medvedev! Be thankful rest of world for such men, learn to work with them, they have only every ones best interests at heart. Also never forget the state of the R F when Mr Putin took charge...this alone shows this mans ability..why do we so easily forget even the recent past, its so distressing!

I think that it is much too early to speculate on P. M. Putin's plans for 2012. I think it is just wishful thinking on the part of a lot of the Russian people because most of them like him as a person and as a politician. It wouldn't surprise me if he were to decide to retire and let the younger generation start making the hard decisions.

If it is really what Mr Putin said; I will consider it as the best news of the day. Presdent Medvedev is OK but he has a managerial formation and tend to be too compromising. His constent sweet words about Mr Obama get on my nerves, because the US president, so far, has done nothing different as what did, his predecessors: obey to the real imperialist bosses. The tricky previous american politics are going on, full speed, on all continents. No US military and spying installations have been closed. The american "defense" (rather offense) budget has beaten all Bush's records. The ABM system is temporarely slowed down but not scrapped; etc. etc. Obama social security program, just voted is a "sauve qui peut" process to calm the millions americans convinced to have been fooled. They are, now, very mad. Something had to be done, knowing that the implementing of it, for every american, is not for tomorrov. Americans respect strenght not wickness; they fear Mr Putin but not Mr Medvedev who will be perfect as a Premier Ministre. Best Regards ! "Bonnes Fêtes à Tous" Jean-Claude Meslin
