The Ukrainian President’s eldest daughter, Vitalina Yushchenko, will model at the prestigious Milan Fashion Week, according to Russia’s Sevodnya newspaper. The 27-year-old is to show off clothes by Ukrainian designer Aina Gase.
It won’t be Vitalina’s first time as a model. At Ukraine Fashion Week she modelled shorts, a top and boots by young designer Olesya Telizhenko.
She was also recently photographed for Russian Vogue magazine in a short black dress. It’s thought likely she will model summer dresses from Aina Gase’s 2009 spring-summer collection in Milan.
Gase is known for designing clothes for the Prime Minister, Yulia Timoshenko, and her daughter, Evgenia Carr.
Valentine’s Day bride
Vitalina is Viktor Yushchenko’s daughter by his first wife, Svetlana, and her private life attracts a lot of media attention in Ukraine. The president was against her first marriage to Mikhail Gonchar – the father of Vitalina’s daughter, Yarina-Dominika.
Gonchar was later detained on suspicion of using a rifle to fire at the building of the Ukrainian parliament, the Rada.
Vitalina has since remarried. She says that she lost a mobile phone in a Ukrainian airport and instead found a husband – a young man, Aleksey Khakhlev, who tried to help her find the device.
The couple wed four years later on Valentine’s Day and have a young son called Viktor.
