More women are joining Moscow's mounted police, an effective line of security in public parks and at major sporting events. And they're proving just as effective as their male buddies.
Russian beauty, Lida, has every chance of becoming a model but she prefers to deal with horses instead. She joined the service at the age of 17 and she's been coming to the stables every morning to clean her pet 'Voron' for the past five years.
“I like to work with horses, to ride them, to look after them. And he loves me very much,” Lidia Duryagina says.
One third of the mounted police staff in Moscow are women. And the average age of them is 23, like Lida. Her male colleagues totally approve of the female presence in the unit…
