India's Tata Motors has unveiled the world's cheapest car. The Tata Nano went on show at the automotive exhibition in New Delhi.
With a price tag of just $US 2,500, the four-door family car has been stripped down to the bare essentials. It doesn't have a radio, air-conditioning or passenger-side mirror. It only has one windscreen wiper.
While the company hopes the Nano will allow millions more people to buy a car, critics fear it will further congest roads, leading to increased air and noise pollution.
