Russian painter Ilya Glazunov claims London auction house Sotheby’s is selling a picture attributed to him – despite the fact that he didn't paint it.
The artist denies any connection with the piece, describing it as a “terrible piece of low quality work” that brings shame on his good name.
The work entitled “A View of the Kremlin” was due to be sold in June. It was estimated that it would be sold for around US$ 24,000.
The auction organisers have been asked to to remove the picture from the sale.
