Vijay Singh could break Sam Snead’s record of 18 tournament wins since turning 40 if he wins the Mercedez Benz Championship in Hawaii. He leads going into Sunday's final round.
After a terrible 2006 season, Fjian Vijay Singh is just one round away from potentially winning the first event of the year on the PGA Tour.The 43-year-old carded a three under par round of 70 in round three to hold a three-stroke lead going into Sunday's final round.Singh only won once in 2006, seeing his world rank slip to 8th. But 5 birdies on Saturday show he's back to near his best.Two of the game's brightest prospects tie for second.Australia's Adam Scott is one of them. His five birdies on the back nine helping him card a 69 and put him into the final group on Sunday.Joining Scott on 8 under par is South African Trevor Immelman. He had the chance to claim outright second spot but his eagle attempt on the last just failed to go in.
