“From Paris with Love”… It’s not a sentimental postcard from your darling, but the title of an action comedy adventure starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Pierre Morel, the French director of “Taken” and “13th District”, told RT that shooting the film was full of fun.

“When you’re a young French director and you have an opportunity to work with a legend, John Travolta, you never know what to expect,” Morel told RT’s Valeria Paikova.

“Actually, Travolta is very easy to work with – he’s cooperative and once he’s on set he is ready to give you anything you want.”

Shooting took place in Paris and lasted three months, with the film’s budget reaching $30 million.

“There was a lot of improvisation. We had what John and I called ‘the Chinese menu’ – which means you’ve got all kinds of different options and opportunities in terms of shooting and playing…”

“From Paris with Love” revolves around the duo of a young, white collar personal aide to the US Ambassador in France, James Reese, and the dare-devil special agent Charlie Wax sent to Paris to stop a terrorist attack. As always, saving the world comes at a price.

The film is Morel’s first foray at making a comedy after several action thrillers.

“What made me want to make movies were American movies. They were among my biggest shocks as a viewer. I still remember seeing Star Wars when I was 12 and it was: Wow! I thought that’s what moviemaking is all about!”

“From Paris with Love” has been released in Russia this week.

John Travolta's a Scientologist. I REFUSE to support them therefor I won't support a movie that gave money to John Travolta because it will obviously end up in Scientology loloo land.
