Russian military bands are rehearsing ahead of the Spasskaya Bashnya Kremlin Tattoo, which is due to kick off in the heart of the capital this weekend.
Bands from all around the world are taking part in the festival. Representatives of nine countries and hundreds of military orchestras’ musicians are coming to the Russian capital to present their musical skills and other talents on Moscow’s main square.
The Russian participants are planning to start on a patriotic note, with some music by Tchaikovsky, followed by a little Verdi and Puccini.
French songstress Mireille Mathieu is expected to draw in fans, as she will be singing accompanied by 800 musicians.
Spasskaya Bashnya was at first thought to be a festival of military music. However, even before the rehearsals on the Red Square it became obvious that the stunning show won’t be just a performance of marches and hymns. The Kremlin cocktail will also be filled with national rhythms and dances.
