A self-proclaimed spiderman has been detained by police in Mexico City after conquering one of its tallest buildings. Alain Robert was met by officers on the roof of the 23-storey World Plaza Tower.

It is not the first time he has been arrested. The 44-year-old Frenchman says he has been handcuffed in more than 50 cities around the world.

Robert claims to have climbed more than seventy buildings, including the Sears tower in Chicago, the Sydney Opera House in Australia and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Throughout his climbing career, Robert’s suffered several concussions and was even in a five-day coma after a fall in 1982.
