A test of nerves, skills and character. How does it feel to be left alone on stage, eye to eye with the audience? Ask the actors!

The art of the solo performance is at the core of an international theater festival underway in the Russian capital. Actors from Russia, Germany, France, America, Italy, Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine face the challenge at the “Solo” festival each night.

Participants in the 11-day event represent different theater schools and acting techniques, aimed at helping establish effective stage presence and audience contact.

One of the highlights of the second edition of the “Solo” festival is a performance by French actor Redjep Mitrovitsa, who will play his trademark performance about the legendary Russian ballet dancer, Vatslav Nizhinsky, entitled “The Diary of Vatslav Nizhinsky”.

The festival runs until October 15 at the Theater Center on Strastnoy Bulvar.
