Snow not a problem for Russian golfers

Who said Russia’s climate is no good for golf? When the weather goes below par and a blizzard strikes in an unfair way, Russians hold their clubs firm, though their main task is to keep track of the ball in the snow.

A new driving range and par three course has opened in Kapotnya, in south-eastern Moscow.

RT's Alexey Nikolov finished a credible third in the 9-hole event.

Murphy’s Law ruled on the day the club had scheduled for its official opening, as Moscow saw the heaviest snowfall of the entire winter, forcing greenkeepers (or, rather, whitekeepers) to clean the greens (or, rather, the whites) every hour.

However, the harsh weather conditions were unable to stop the bunch of enthusiastic golfers who arrived to celebrate the inaugural event at Moscow's newest golf facility, the likes of which are still scarce in Russian capital and, therefore, in great demand.
