Thousands poured into Luzhniki stadium supporting Spartak, on dangerous ground after a scoreless away draw. Midfielder Santos Mozart gave the home crowd what they wanted in the twenty-third minute, a beautiful long drive making it 1-nil to the hosts.

Five minutes later, Mozart, still orchestrating midfield, had his run and cross cleared into the path of Sergey Covalchuk, his misfit shot headed on by Roman Pavluchenko for the win. Cska won 2-nil at Rujomberok to go through 5-nil on aggregate.
