International forces have seized a ship held by Somali pirates after a one day high-seas standoff.
The pirates had captured the cargo vessel Magellan Star the day before.
The ship's crew included Russians, Poles, Ukrainians, Bulgarians and Philippinos, who had been hiding below deck since the ship was boarded.
Pirates had a big haul on Wednesday – as they also seized a ship with Georgian and Turkish crews.
Yet the International Maritime Bureau reports that attacks are down since the beginning of the year as navy forces intensify patrols in the Gulf.
