Serena Williams has crushed Maria Sharapova in the women’s singles final at the Australian Open becoming the second unseeded player to win the tournament in the open era.
The American cruised past the top seed in the opening set, losing just one game on her way to a 6-1 victory. Williams dominated the second 6-2 not giving Maria a single chance to return into the match.It was Serena's 8th career grand slam title.
