Well, there goes the permafrost, plagues, and the start of another ice age. I thought HAARP was supposed to help. With all the mind games, who knows, right?

Sarah, it's snowing in Brazil. What is happening in Russia is happening on the other side of the world, but at the opposite end of the weather spectrum.

WWF experts say that the heat Russia is experiencing could become the norm in less than 60 years. The WWF is urging the Russian government to take greater steps toward preventing global warming. Weather forecaster Piers says this is a result of weather cycles, not global warming. "What we have is a tremendous amount of activity on the sun." Which argument can hold water? Either, both or none? If scientists cannot be absolutely sure what causes the maddening heat in Russia, how could one expects the layperson to understand? Will climatologists speak up? (btt1943)
