The Italian Goldoni theatre company has come to Moscow with their production, “One of the last evenings of the Carnival”. The premiere is part of the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the famous playwright.

The idea to show the play in Moscow was first born when the Russian Mossovet theatre was on tour in Venice with Chekhov's “The Seagull”. Director Andrey Konchalovsky saw the Italian production and decided to bring the play to Moscow at any price.

No wonder the Muscovites are delighted to see such plays. Bright and beautiful costumes, stage sets which look like museum exhibits and of course the moving and passionate performance leaves no one unmoved.

The story itself is about an artist who decides to move to Moscow. Carlo Goldoni could hardly imagine that his play would be not only seen but also adored in that very same city.
