For the last two years Kristina and Inna have dedicated their lives to helping injured animals overcome or at least live with their disabilities. But now their animal shelter in a remote village faces trouble as the locals are afraid of the odd-looking pe
I think these women are doing a wonderful thing for animals that would otherwise be killed. I wish there were more people like them in every country. Animals have disabilities just like people, and have the right of a happy life. The "villagers" are obviously ignorant and that breeds irrational fear. What happens in that village if a baby is born without limbs, do they kill them too? It's 2010 people, get with the rest of the world. Unfortunately the "old lady in the trailer" most likely doesn't have internet access so she will remain uninformed and is quite frankly stupid.
This story is so sad, but it reflects the situation with animals in Russia. It takes people a while to realize that animals deserve same care as people, but for Russia it will take even longer. People with disabilities there are not getting proper care, not talking of animals. These women are so brave, I would be scared to death to face wild Russian men with axes. Tver is a remote town and looks like it is living in medevial times.
My heart goes out to the ladies and her animals. Such a big thing to do for those sweet pets. I know by experience how much those animals love you and feel safe by you. My cat would follow me everywhere, wait for me, and looked to me for advise. He would not go into the street because I said "No", cars". He knew it would not be safe. He'd been catnapped and I got him back 1 week later so he stays close now. He takes a quick run across the lawn and back to me then we walk together. MAY YOU BE BLESSED FOR YOUR LOVE.
Is there a way we can help?
Ithat was the most touching and sad interview i have seen in ages. I hope they recieve all the support they need and that people will get together and help them. those two women have the biggest hearts of us all, just seeing the dog crawl around with his two hind legs dragging behind choked me up! those villagers are just a bunch of ignorant small town folk who are under educated and only care for themselves. I hope that if they do cause harm to the refuge, that karma will twist fate around and bear the wrath of all their actions upon them. god damn retards. if they have a website or anything set up for donations or anything plz send a link! thanks!!
My heart goes out to those women as well. Those poor animals. This goes to show everyone how cruel humans can be to other humans and animals as well. Wish we could do away with the gene in our body that triggers hate???? This is extremely sad story. Wish there was something we could all do to help. Those poor kitties
we should call Peta
Be strong, help from god is in the way. keep on doing this wonderful things you do. and you might consider to ask some help from Russia Government.
I'd like to send a few dollars if possible. Is there anyway we can help? This is such a touching and caring story. Those women are great for taking care of such wonderful but helpless cats/dogs.
There's something wrong with those village people! I'm sure their barbarians cause they acted as if they have not a clue about the world out side. I worried about the women and animals. can't they have at least some security given to them. pls. take care of your selves girls cause people like you are hard to find.... My God send help....
Wow, villagers. How cruel. Humans are animals too. I'd like to permanently cripple those who were involved with the attack on the sanctuary- see how they like that. I sincerely hope karma gets them real good.
Typical east-european/russian behaviour towards crippled/disabled animals AND humans.
They only care about themselfs.
Look at the disabled kids in bulgaria...left to die in an adoption center were they have to stay in bed for 24/7
The greek are also known for throwing dogs into the mountains and leave them by themselfs.
And a few weeks ago a girl was shown throwing puppies in the river...she was bosnian.
Seems people still live in medieval times... gees... get a life! And leave these woman and their animals alone, or you'll hav to deal with me, bunch of peasants!
