It's been a black day for top Russian players in the Australian Open women's draw. World number two Svetlana Kuznetsova and number six Anna Chakvetadze were knocked out in round three.
Kuznetsova looked out of sorts as she lost tamely to 29th seed, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, 6-3 6-4.
Another Russian defeat soon followed as Anna Chakvetadze was also upset. The sixth seed was beaten in three sets by compatriot Maria Kirilenko.
Chakvetadze took the first in a tie break, but Kirilenko stormed back to take the next two comfortably. The 27th seed has booked her place in round four.
