Russian aviatrixes fly in the face of prejudice

Russia was one of the first countries to allow women to fly planes. Russian women piloted bombers in World War II. Today, no longer allowed into the military, they compete in international sporting aviation.

Even in sporting aviation in Russia women are a minority and their success is in many ways against the odds.
