The Victorian era painters are placed next to Russians Natalia Goncharova, Mikhail Larionov, Natan Altman and others.
Thus the organisers hope to revitalise the principles laid by the founder of the gallery, Pavel Tretyakov, and his brother Sergey, who willed his collection of Western European art to be united with the Russian one belonging to Pavel.
