Well over $US100 MLN is set to be thrown on Russian art at Sotheby’s upcoming auction in Moscow. It’s where collectors see $US 3 million for an Aivazovsky as a real bargain. After all, his paintings once hung in the Kennedy White House.

More than 30 Russian painting masterpieces and precious decorative art items will go under the hammer in mid-April. Meanwhile, ardent collectors will have to be patient by getting acquainted with the collection now on display at Moscow’s Historical Museum.
