The country’s senators have decided to add one more holiday to the calendar.

Now, in addition to Victory Day on May 9, Russia will also commemorate the capitulation of Japan in 1945 and the official end of World War II – on September 2.

Senators say that the holiday will be devoted to Russians who showed dedication, heroism and loyalty to their Motherland and to the allies of the USSR – member of the anti-Hitler coalition.

September 2 is marked as Victory Day by many countries that took part in the World War II.
