The Ministry of Culture has forbidden distribution of movies that use sexually explicit language in their titles. Film producers, however, argue that the term is too vague.

The order comes a month after the Ministry released a list of erotic films it had passed for distribution. Many of the films had very vulgar and sometimes plainly pornographic titles.

However, film producers, mass media and officials responsible for film licensing say that the Ministry has not specified which words and phrases count as sexually explicit, which may confuse those involved in the process of distribution.

This means that the Ministry may have again stepped on its own toes, renewing the debate on how to distinguish pornography from erotica. The State Duma has been grappling with the distinction since 2008, when the government began cracking down on distribution of pornography.

This just plain ridiculous, I see how the Russian government is becoming more and more autocratic and dictatorial wise. Now the war on pornography then what? a moral police? I hope people in Russia don´t fall in this stupid game. These controveries are made by the government to distract people from what is really going on in the country like loosing civil liberties and corruption which the governrment hasn´t takle yet, not even a little bit. Before Putin ascending to power, at least people could vote for their Governors, now they can´t. Moreover, there is a discussion on whether there should be elections for mayor in every city, then what? Presidential seat is going to be for life? so no votes even for president. It´s intriguing how every time the central Government is lauching policies restricting the people´s rights suddenly you see news like this. It´s scary how the misnistry of culture has accused artists of offending Russian soul, yes I know it sounds crazy but there is a law protecting "Russian soul", just because they used national symbols in an inappropiate way. And as always the law is very ambiguous, so any one can be an offerder. Don´t you see people, that this is a TRAP. The Ministry of Culture is really a Ministry of "Controlling minds" I strongly recomend reading like "1984" and "Animal Farm" by George Orwell or "The epic of Latin America" by John A. CROW, especially the part of dictatorial regimes that came right after independence. You´ll see the similarities between dictators and current Russian politicians. Also watch "V for Vendetta", it´s not the best film but talks about this topic.
