The RT channel has won the Grand Prize of 11th Ecological TV-festival “Save and Preserve” in Khanty-Mansiysk in Western Siberia in June 2007. RT representatives have received the “Golden Ember-Goose” prize for a series of programme
One of the films of the series awarded was “A Tiger’s Tale”.
Siberian tiger called “The Soul of the Taiga” by the hunters and shamans of the Primorskiy region. For them, it’s a sacred animal which is the incarnation of their ancestors’ spirit. Tigers have been inhabiting deep forests of the Primorskiy region for centuries and managed to avoid the hunter’s gun. But the constant encroachment of civilisation upon the taiga puts these exquisite creatures in danger of total extinction.
