Chelsea's owner Roman Abramovich has announced that he expects his side's spending in the transfer market will be reduced in the near future. He assumes that the club doesn’t need strengthening.

The Russian, who bought the club in 2003 told English newspaper the Observer that he predicts Chelsea will come to rely on players coming through their nearly build academy rather than on expensive imports.

The 40- year- old billionaire has spent millions since arriving at Stanford Bridge, including the summer purchase of Andrey Shevchenko for 30 million pounds in the summer.
