Liliana's children cried 'yes!' in excitement when they first saw her facial piercing

Russia celebrates Mother's Day on Sunday, with the emphasis on love, compassion and parental guidance. One extraordinary Moscow mum is very much in tune with her kids. She's even more cutting edge than they are.

A retired police officer, Liliana is a mother of 14. Eight of her children are adopted.

She is so unusual (covered in body art) that an alternative rock band has chosen her as a model for their video.

Her kids say Liliana is their ‘best friend’ and ‘the coolest mother in the world’.

They all live in an ordinary three-room apartment with their pets. These include a polecat, a couple of rats, a rabbit and a dog – not to mention three cats. Surprisingly, they all get along quite well.

The children say their family is so united even the animals are best mates.
