In the Russian Republic of Tartarstan, a polar bear cub has made its first appearance in public. The cub was born in Kazan zoo on New Year’s eve, and has been kept in private ever since.
It’s a girl, but its name won’t be revealed until a special event for children on March 30. Zoo keepers say the cub is very active and eager to play with her mum.
Officials don't yet know where the cub will go when she gets a little older, but promise she'll be taken good care of.
